About the tour

The Original All-You-Can-Eat Vegan Street Food Tour in Mexico City: Always Imitated, Never Duplicated!

Are you a vegan or vegetarian and feel like you’re missing out on Mexico City’s street food? Look no further, for we are here to feed you! This is the original all-you-can-eat vegan & vegetarian street food tour that started it all. Join us for a unique, immersive experience that takes you through the heart of Mexico City’s middle and working-class neighborhoods, where delicious, vegan & vegetarian street food awaits at every corner.

What to expect

On this 3.5 to 4-hour adventure, you’ll eat your way through four very different neighborhoods, covering a route of approximately 5.4 km filled with hidden gems, family-run eateries, and bustling street food stalls. We refuse to take you to tourist spots & sterile places like Condesa or Polanco, so be prepared to discover local, authentic places where Mexicans eat and hang out.

Sample menu (all subject to availability)

-Vegan Tacos. Ever wondered what tacos al Pastor, suadero and chicharron tacos *really* taste like?  Made with different ingredients like pea protein, wheat and texturized soy, they will give you a glimpse into Mexico City’s taco culture— minus the meat

– Tlacoyos: A prehispanic dish, they are stuffed flat dumplings filled with refried beans, smashed potatoes or white cheese and then grilled. Tlacoyos are a typical Mexico City street food found in every corner. Unfortunately, a lot of places use lard in the filling or the grill, so it is tricky to find 100% vegan/veggie versions of this traditional food

– Quesadillas: Handmade tortillas filled with a variety of vegetables, from mushrooms to potatoes, zucchini blossoms and huitlacoche— the Mexican ‘truffle’

-Esquites: Traditional corn-in-a-cup, the corn kernels are prepared in a grill to make it smoky and crunchy, or boiled for cold days.

– Tortas de Milanesa: Crispy breaded vegan milanesa (Mexican schnitzel) served as a sandwich. You have not tasted Mexican street food if you’ve never had a torta. Ingredients include fresh tomatoes, lettuce, mashed avocado, homemade veganaise, refried beans and caramelized onions.

– Fake Seafood: Taste an array of vegan versions of seafood dishes, carefully crafted to mimic the taste and authenticity of the original dishes. No meat substitutes, just mushrooms and fresh veggies used in a remarkably creative manner.

– Churros: The real recepie is actually vegan! Fried dough, dusted with sugar and cinnamon. Perfect for dipping in cajeta (Mexican caramel) or guava dip

One drink included!

Choose between traditional aguas frescas like jamaica, tamarindo, carambola, or guayaba— all made from real fruits. Prefer something a bit stronger? Wrap up your tour with a cold beer to complete your experience.
